UAL reports record fourth-quarter profit – reaches agreement to buy 40 Boeing 737-700 aircraft
We are continuing to move United forward and announced today we would take delivery of 40 new Boeing 737-700 aircraft, which will enter the fleet beginning in mid-2017. These aircraft give our customers the experience they want with first class seats, Economy Plus and Wi-Fi, while enabling us to reduce 50-seat flying.

UAL reported full-year net income of US$4.5bn excluding special items; including special items, UAL reported full-year net income of US$7.3bn. These results include a nonrecurring US$3.1bn non-cash benefit associated with the reversal of the company’s income tax valuation allowance. UAL reported fourth-quarter net income of US$934m, excluding special items; including special items, UAL reported fourth-quarter net income of US$823m. UAL also reached an agreement to acquire 40 new Boeing 737-700 aircraft on January 21st, which will enter the fleet beginning in mid-2017, replacing a portion of the capacity currently operated by regional partners.
